If you are looking for a casino game that takes a lot more than chance, and requires a fair amount of strategy, then blackjack is the game for you.  Blackjack offers some great odds, especially since there is no house edge.  That means you have a great shot at being a winner.  You just have to make sure to learn basic strategy, as this will help you to play the game right.

Winning at blackjack has a lot to do with the decisions players make during the game. For example the result of the game can be changed if a player decides to stay, or take more cards.  Also, the time a player decides to split or double down can also impact the result.

Here are some easy to remember blackjack tips:

Be Confident: If you want to be a good blackjack player, this is the best place to start because if you are confident you will make the right choices, and won’t be hesitant when you play the game.  If you are confident, then you won’t be afraid to take your hits.  Some people prefer not to do so at times, but this is never a good idea as you might end up losing.  Always stay positive, and continue to use the proven blackjack strategies, because they really do work.  You’ll play your best game when you’re calm and relaxed.

Don’t split 10s:  Why?  It’s never a good idea to break up a good hand, as it will reduce your chance of winning. That’s because you might split your 10s and end up drawing a 5 or a 6 and that will mean you’re in trouble, so better to keep the 10s together.   Knowing when to split is a key part of blackjack strategy.

Don’t split 5s:  This tip might seem a little less obvious, but when playing blackjack a hand of 10 is a good one to have.  Again, there is the chance that you might draw a card that’s not too good, like a 10, and that would put you at 15.  A hand of 15 is not a good hand in blackjack.

If you are playing at a land based casino, then be sure to pick the right table.  Just take a look at the people there, check the table out and see if they’re winning.  If most players are on a losing streak, then it’s probably not a good idea to join that table.

If you are playing online, then it makes sense to stick to basic strategy, because that’s what the computer knows.  Chances are even if you start out losing a few times, you will end up winning.

A good blackjack player knows when to call it quits. If you have won a few games and have some money in hand, then that’s a good time to stop.  The objective is to beat the dealer and win some money, so if you’ve done that then that’s the best time to take your profits and walk away from the table.
